"What is your best wine?"
It's probably the question we're asked most often. And yet, it's the hardest one to answer.
Because there isn't one single "best" wine. There is the right wine for a particular moment, a memorable meal, a celebration with friends or simply the pleasure of opening a bottle at the end of the day.
That is exactly what makes the wines of Vaucluse so fascinating.
Within just a few miles, the landscape changes dramatically. The soils evolve, the altitude varies and the vineyards tell completely different stories. Every bottle reflects the place where its grapes were grown.
At Domaine Tourbillon, we are fortunate to work vineyards across several of the finest terroirs in the Vaucluse department. Our family has cultivated these lands for generations, building a collection of vineyards that now allows us to offer a remarkable diversity of wines from Southern Rhône.
Every vintage reminds us that no two plots are ever alike.
A land shaped for great wines
Located in the heart of Provence and the Southern Rhône Valley, Vaucluse is home to some of France's most celebrated wine appellations.
Its Mediterranean climate provides abundant sunshine throughout the growing season, while the famous Mistral wind naturally protects the vineyards by keeping the vines healthy. Combined with an extraordinary diversity of soils, these conditions create wines of remarkable personality.
One vineyard may be rooted in limestone, another in ancient river stones, another in fine sand.
For wine lovers, this means endless discoveries.
For winemakers, it means endless inspiration.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape: elegance through diversity
Few wine regions enjoy the international reputation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
While many people associate the appellation with powerful red wines, the reality is far more nuanced.
At Domaine Tourbillon, our vineyards reveal different expressions of the appellation depending on their terroir.
Our Vieilles Vignes cuvée comes primarily from limestone soils, producing wines with freshness, precision and remarkable elegance.
Our 1947 cuvée tells another story entirely. Produced from old-vine Grenache growing in the famous sandy soils of Pignan, it offers silky tannins, refined aromatics and exceptional finesse.
Alongside our reds, we also produce a limited quantity of white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, showcasing the elegance and freshness of the appellation's traditional white grape varieties.
Gigondas: where old vines meet the Dentelles de Montmirail
A short drive north, the scenery changes once again.
The spectacular Dentelles de Montmirail rise above the vineyards, creating one of the Southern Rhône's most iconic landscapes.
Some of our Gigondas vines are more than a century old.
Their naturally low yields produce wines with depth, concentration and impressive ageing potential, while retaining freshness and balance.
Gigondas is a wine that rewards patience, but it is equally enjoyable around a generous meal shared with family and friends.
Plan de Dieu: generous and approachable
Visitors are often intrigued by the name Plan de Dieu, which translates as "God's Plain."
This historic vineyard area is covered with large rounded stones that absorb the heat of the Provençal sun before slowly releasing it overnight.
The result is beautifully ripe fruit and wines that combine richness with freshness.
Our Plan de Dieu is made to be shared. It pairs effortlessly with grilled meats, Mediterranean cuisine and relaxed evenings around the table.
More than prestigious appellations
While Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas attract worldwide attention, they represent only part of our story.
Our Côtes du Rhône, IGP Vaucluse wines, whites, rosés and sparkling cuvées all express another side of the estate.
These are wines created for everyday enjoyment, long summer lunches and spontaneous moments with friends.
They may be simpler than our flagship wines, but they are crafted with exactly the same care and respect for the vineyard.

That is why we welcome visitors to two tasting cellars, each offering its own atmosphere and experience.
Our Lagnes tasting cellar, ideally located between L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, is the perfect place to explore the full range of Domaine Tourbillon wines.
Inside our air-conditioned cellar, visitors can compare the freshness of our limestone-grown Châteauneuf-du-Pape with the finesse of our sandy-soil 1947 cuvée, discover the character of Gigondas or enjoy the generosity of our Plan de Dieu.
Many travellers include Lagnes as part of a day exploring Provence's hilltop villages and famous antique markets.
Our second tasting cellar is located in Gigondas, beneath the spectacular Dentelles de Montmirail.
Here, surrounded by the vineyards themselves, visitors gain a deeper understanding of the history, landscape and traditions that have shaped this exceptional appellation.
